Texts generated directly with GhostWryter and your own OpenAI License Key are extremely cheap for you. For 1,000 tokens (the unit of OpenAI) you pay only 0.02$ (2 cents). This applies to the most advanced Davinci model. You can think of the tokens as word parts, where 1,000 tokens correspond to about 750 words. So for just one dollar you can generate about 37,500 words.

Basics

There are three common reasons why users cannot launch or use the GhostWryter add-on. Please check all these three points first!

You need to sign up for a GhostWryter Subscription with the same email address you use for Google Docs!
For example, if you sign in to your Google Docs account with john.doe@gmail.com, then you have to make your GhostWryter subscription with the same email address john.doe@gmail.com.
Sometimes you don’t see the option to start the GhostWryter add-on under the extension tab. You only see „help“!
This is unfortunately a long time not fixed error from google side. Just reload the browser window where the Google Docs is located. Then you can launch the GhostWryter add-on from the „Extensions“ menu.
You don’t have a valid OpenAI license key and/or you have not entered and saved this in the add-on!

Start

First you need to download and install the GhostWryter add-on from the store. To do this, go to Extensions, Add-ons, Call add-ons at the top.

Now you will see the Google Workspace Marketplace home page. In the search box, search for GhostWryter. Then you will find the GhostWryter product card. Click on it and then on the blue „Install“ button.

Click on „next“ in the permission field and then you have to give GhostWryter permission to access this document.

You can then use the installed add-on in any Google Docs document, not just this one. You can also start it by simply clicking on Extensions at the top.

Important note:
1. To use GhostWryter, you need a valid Subscription for GhostWryter and a free License Key for OpenAI.
2. You need to sign up for GhostWryter with the same email address you use to sign into Google Docs.

Good to know: If you register for a free License Key at OpenAI, you will also receive a credit of $18 at the start. This is enough to test GhostWryter and OpenAI extensively.

You have a GhostWryter Subscription and an OpenAI License Key now? Great, then let’s start right away.

After you have started the add-on, a sidebar has opened on the right side of this document. In this sidebar you will find all the functions of GhostWryter. We will now introduce you to them step by step.

First you have to click on the icon with the gears in the sidebar navigation. Copy your valid OpenAI License Key into the field and save them. And then you can start.

Find Ideas & Keywords

Click on the magnifying glass icon in the sidebar navigation.

This is the „Find Ideas & Keywords“ section, where you usually start when you want to write a text. With the section „Find Ideas & Keywords“ you will find the necessary inspiration for your text. You can do this for as many keywords as you want. You can do this for as many keywords as you want until you find enough ideas and keywords.

You will see black buttons. We will now introduce you to the functions behind each button in detail.

Ideas Generator

Write a keyword, e.g. „buy bitcoin“, mark this keyword with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Ideas Generator“.

Outline Generator

Your blog post or article needs a well-defined outline as a roadmap for your content. Write a keyword or Question, e.g. „cryptocurrency“, mark this keyword with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Outline Generator“.

Heading Finder

Highlight a Keyword and find matching Headings in form of questions. Write a keyword, e.g. „buy gold“, mark this keyword with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Heading Finder“.

Root Causes

Highlight a Keyword (Problem to solve) and find Root Causes. Write a Keyword, select it with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black „Root Causes“ button.

Worst Case Scenario

It’s always important to think about worst case scenarios when writing about a topic. Highlight a Keyword e.g. „Start as a freelancer in the SEO industry“ and find Root Causes. Write a Keyword, select it with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black „Worst Case Scenario“ button.

Write Sentences & Paragraphs

Click on the pencil icon in the sidebar navigation.

This is the „Write Sentences & Paragraphs“ section, where you write your texts. You can use the content from Step 1, but of course you can always add more content. You see black buttons. We will now introduce you to the functions behind each button in detail.

Essay Writer

Write a keyword, e.g. „ethereum“, mark this keyword with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black „Essay Writer“ button

Introduction

Write a keyword, e.g. „buy ethereum“, mark this keyword with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black „Introduction“ button

Paragraph

Write a keyword, e.g. „buy gold“, mark this keyword with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Paragraph“.

Paragraph from List

Write a list of keywords, e.g. „lorem ipsum“, mark this keyword with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Paragraph from List“.

Paragraph Expander

Write a paragraph, mark this paragraph with the cursor(it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Paragraph Expander“.

Sentence Expander

Write a sentence, mark this sentence with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Sentence Expander“.

Complete Sentence

Start a sentence, e.g. „Bitcoin is“, mark this sentence with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Complete Sentence“.

Answer Questions

Write a question, e.g. „What is Bitcoin?“, mark this question with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Answer Questions“.

Refine Your Text

Click on the diamond icon in the sidebar navigation.

This is the „Refine your Text“ section, where you can add the final touches to your Step 2 texts. You will see black buttons. We will now introduce you to the functions behind each button in detail.

Rewriter

Copy an existing sentence or a whole paragraph, mark this paragraph with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Rewriter“. (For best results your paragraph should not be longer than 150 – 200 words. Longer texts are best rewritten in parts).

TOP-10 Questions

Find the Top-10 Questions with answers about your topic. Write a keyword, e.g. „bitcoin“, mark this keyword with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „TOP-10 Questions“.

Advantages

Write a keyword or a question, e.g. „buy gold“, mark this keyword with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Advantages“.

Disadvantages

Write a keyword or a question, e.g. „buy gold“, mark this keyword with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Disadvantages“.

Bullet Point Summary

Write or copy a paragraph, e.g. „buy gold“, mark this paragraph with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Bullet Point Summary“. (Your paragraph should not be longer than 300 – 400 words. Longer texts are best divided into paragraphs of about the same length).

Checklist Creator

Write a question, e.g. „buy gold“, mark this question with the cursor (it will be highlighted in blue) and click the black button „Checklist Creator“.

Magic Command

Write a Command, highlight it and send your custom Text generation Requests to GhostWriter.

Is there a free trial period of GhostWryter?

No. However, you can cancel your subscription within the first three days of ordering and we will refund you the amount of $2.99 – no questions asked. Furthermore, you can cancel your Subscription at any time on a monthly basis. So you don’t take any risk at all.

Important Note:
We want to reward the loyalty of our customers. Therefore, every customer who has not interrupted the subscription will never pay more than 2.99$ per month. However, if you have canceled once and come back later, the monthly amount will increase to 7.99$.

Why do I need a free license key from OpenAI?

OpenAI is the provider of the AI language models behind most of the text writers currently available on the market. These text writers offer different pricing models, but usually have two things in common.

The number of texts you can write per month is limited and depends on the package you have booked.
You pay the agreed package price every month, regardless of whether you write texts or not.

With GhostWryter and your own free license key from OpenAI, you only pay for what you actually use – pay as you go. In addition, you „buy“ the service „directly from the manufacturer“ and don’t have to go through a middleman. You can’t buy the help of artificial intelligence for writing your texts any cheaper.

Why do I need a Subscription for GhostWryter?

GhostWryter is basically the link, the interface, between OpenAI and your Google Docs documents. GhostWryter also provides you with the functions (prompts) to edit and write your texts accordingly. And all this for only 2.99$ per month.

So even if you don’t write any texts for a month, you only have fixed costs of 2.99$. You will hardly be able to buy AI for writing your texts cheaper and more professionally.

What if the Result is not what I expected?

It can happen that the output is not what you expected. You must not forget, even an artificial intelligence is not infallible.

Most of the time it is because your keywords or phrases were not specific enough or the topic is just too specific and the AI can’t offer better results. The language models on which the AI is based are also about 2 years old. Therefore, it cannot respond to the latest news and trends. Then just try it again with adjusted keywords, sentences or questions, or basically revise your request.

Since the direct billing via your own OpenAI license key is incredibly favorable for you, you can test a lot here without worries until the desired result is achieved. But if the result is still behind your expectations even after some adjustments, please give us editing access to your document and write the following information into it:

Your keyword or the phrase you entered
Which button you clicked
What was the result
What result did you expect

What if I clicked a Button but nothing happened?

This can happen sometimes, but usually has very trivial reasons. It is best to go through the checklist step by step:

You have also marked a keyword or a phrase (highlighted in black with the cursor) before you clicked one of the buttons?
You have a valid GhostWryter Subscription?
You are logged in to Google Docs with the same Email you used to request your GhostWryter Subscription?
You have a valid OpenAI License Key and entered it in the sidebar?
You still have enough credits on your OpenAI account?
You have selected a language in the settings tab?
You saved the your settings you have made in the settings tab?
You have reloaded your Google Docs document and also restarted the GhostWryter add-on?

Still nothing happens?

Then please give us editing access to your document and write in the document where the error occurs and when exactly.

In which languages can GhostWryter be used?

Currently you can use GhostWryter in English, German, French and Spanish. More languages are already in the works. We also appreciate feedback on which languages we should include first.
